Summary
The player can customise the Willowdown Farmhouse and large sections of the farm area itself. This mode is unlocked early in the Prologue by Uncle Bill. Customisation is not just about making things look nice but also about improving your economy by letting you plant more crops and berry bushes and so on.
Customisation Mode
To access Customisation, open the map whilst at Willowdown Farm or, if in the farmhouse itself, interact with the Customisation Table.
Doing so will open up the map view of Willowdown Farm. Select the area you wish to customise. The areas with the grey icons must be bought before you can play with them.
You can access your Catalogue and place any unlocked objects within there. Some objects are free and some cost Brass.
Objects placed in storage can be used at a later date. Some objects are only for indoor or outdoor use.
Objects sold will be removed, giving you a little Brass in return (but make a loss on the original price).
The best way to learn customisation is to play with the system. Game time is paused, so you are not missing out on any events whilst doing so.
One tip we like to share with budding designers is to try the fine-tuning option. Many objects can be placed more precisely within their square when using this. This allows you to create less regimented and more organic layouts.
Plots
You can purchase 3 other plots to expand your farm. These are located to the right of the farmhouse (north), south across the river and by cutting through the thick weeds to the eastern side of the farm with a Fae metal Sickle.

Fixed Items
There are some items that cannot be removed, as they are needed for the A.I to function. These are beds, Family Scheduler, Dining Table, Stove, Customisation Table and the Larder.
The Terrarium
If you buy the Terrarium from Mr Fairweather, you can also customise the interior for this - it is your own personal, portable garden! You can't use interior objects, nor can you build structures such as the chicken coop or cow shed, as no living beings can enter the Terrarium.
