Hags place mysterious Totems around, making Hobs go crazy and strip an area of its resources. You can destroy these Totems by entering their associated rifts and defeating the enemies within. Each rift needs to be completed before the Totem itself can be destroyed. Doing so will reward you with a slot machine of goods.

Family members over 18 years old can be sent to clear Totems if you equip them with a sword.
