Masters & Skills

Summary

You can unlock Skills by visiting the Masters around Quill and fulfilling their requirements. Gift them what they ask for and you'll receive new abilities which can improve your gardening, melee and ranged combat, cooking, exploring and fishing.

Twig

Twig is the Fishing Master who is found in Dreamers Nook and from whom you can get the following skills:

Skill	Description	Requirements
Hook Item	With this you aren't limited to catching fish on your line!	ingredient 1 test	ingredient 1 test	ingredient 1 test
Angling Map	Identify currently active fish using the Angling Map feature on the map screen.
Big Hook	Hook fish instantly when the lure lands near them.
Fish Eye	Press F (keyboard) / RB (controller) to scan for nearby fish.
Unzipped Fly	Attract fish from further away when rippling your line.
Fish Food	Throw food into the water to attract nearby fish.
Dace in the Hole	The hook will land accurately in the centre of the target zone.
Codswallop	Fish near the hook will be splashed out of the water and automatically caught.

Jogon

Jogon is the Melee Combat Master, who can be found in Rivermoor and from whom you can get the following skills:

Skill	Description
Parry	Get the timing down to stun and counter enemy attacks. Projectiles can be reflected too
Tri-Combo	Perform a third combo swing when attacking a monster.
Goddess Power	Use a Goddess Effigy item during combat. Fill the meter by damaging monsters then unleash powerful effects!
Syphon	Crits steal enemy stamina and give it to you
Pet Support	Gain an extra Pet slot and take two animals into combat.
Second Wind	Player is not killed and gets a quarter of health bar back
Boundless	Every 50 stamina used, the player enters a zen-like mode where they have a period of infinite stamina
Hammerfall	10 parries in a row causes Jogon to leap straight down and shockwave all enemies with damage and stun.

Moon

Moon is the Ranged Combat Master, who is found in Drownhill and from whom you can get the following skills:

Skill	Description
Strongarm	Don't lose stamina while aiming
Scavenge	33% chance to retain an arrow after each combat area
Finisher	If a non-large enemy has less than 10% health an arrow will finish them
Reflecting Arrow	Chance arrow may hit one target then go hit another
Split Arrow	4 arrows are shot and spread amongst enemies
Headshot	Crits do 250% more damage and lower Strength by 3 permanently
Elemental Mate	Arrows have a 10% chance to be ice/fire/lightning
Moonrise	Moon appears when you use the bow at low health to rain down arrows onto one enemy

Marshtyt

Marshtyt is the Gardening Master who can be found in The Twanging Gardens and from whom you can get the following skills:

Skill	Description
Hydrate	Plant waters itself after the first day of watering.
Can-Do	Your watering can spreads beautiful hydration over a wider area.
Quick Grow	Plants grow in one less day.
Hardy	Can plant seeds in all seasons.
Tasty	Adds 1 star to planted crops.
Reproduce	Ripe vegetables give seeds when they are cut down with a sickle.
Bounty	Plants have a double yield.
Supersweet	5% chance to spit out 10 fruit when harvesting fruit.

Mother Hubbard

Old Mother Hubbard is the Cooking Master who is found in Candlewych Cottage and from whom you can get the following skills:

Skill	Description
Simpleton’s Stew	Loved by village idiots and hungry people
Quick Cuisine	Family cooks 50% faster
Jamboree	Get double jam yield
Cherry on Top	50% chance desserts gain 1 extra star
Rod’s Stew Art	Get double stews and soup yield
𝝿r2	Get double pie yield
Join the Club	Triple yield from sandwiches and bread
Culinary Magic	Save a burned or poor quality crafted item by regaining at one lost quality star

Sibling

Your Sibling is the Explorer Master who can be found in Stonecrown and from whom you can get the following skills:

Skill	Description
Brassfinder	Chopping down long grass can sometimes yield Brass
Jarfinder	Chance to find 2 x jars in digspots
Mining Expert	Mining produces one extra ore
Campfire	Gather round your own campfire and save anytime you like
Knockerfriend	Knockers won’t attack you or boot you from the mine
Duggernaut	20% chance to get 4 items out of digspots
Knockerworkers	Knockers in Deep Mine carry valuable ore that you can slingshot from their heads. Replenishes daily.
Nature's Bounty	Add 1 star and extra yield to wild growables
