The Unwell

Available at: Grandmaster Renown Tier 4

Location: Frogmarsh, Dreadwaters, Tir Na Nog

Quest Giver: Paige Turner

Reward: The Folk of Woemarsh – by E. Longated

---

Step 1: Blow the Calmonica in Wisptrail

Paige: That’s the one! Now we can get to Frogmarsh and the Dreadwaters gate. Meet me there when ready. If you go to Copperpot first, be warned — folk there are moody. That’s the problem I want your help with. See you in Frogmarsh… just go up, then straight up again!

---

Step 2: Speak to Paige at the Dreadwaters Gate

Paige: Glad you made it. These marshes can be tricksy. Now then, to the task at hand.

We need your help. I never used to feel like this — so full of bad thoughts. It’s as though something has entered the very water of Woemarsh.

I believe the source lies beyond this gate. Please help us. I was told *you* could.

Here — this book may help. When you have what’s needed, meet me back here.

Book Summary: The Unwell

A Fae named **Miffin Muffin** once discovered a cursed well in a swamp, filled with poisoned water that turned drinkers violent and hateful. He fetched **pure spring water** from **Tir Na Nog** and poured it into the well, cleansing it. However, he vanished shortly after — last seen bumping into **Daddy Long Legs**.

  • Task Added: *Get magical water*
 * Description: Go to the fountain in the north of Tir Na Nog and collect the liquid.
   You will need a container.

---

Step 3: Retrieve Magical Water

  • Head to the **northernmost point** of Tir Na Nog.
  • Interact with the spring fountain using a container to collect the magical water.

---

Step 4: Return to Paige

  • Bring the water back to Paige Turner at the Dreadwaters gate.

Paige: You have the means to cleanse the Unwell? Then I shall open the gate.

But be warned. You are entering **Dreadwaters**. Avoid **HIM** at all costs. The candles we placed keep HIM contained. If HE catches you, you will die — instantly.

There may be ways to buy time, but I don’t know them. Be careful.

  • Task Updated: *Cleanse the Unwell*
 * Description: Take the magical water into Dreadwaters and find the cursed well.
You **do not** need to equip the item.
Beware: If the inhabitant catches you, it's instant death and Mr Fairweather will revive you.

---

Step 5: Enter Dreadwaters

  • You must be in the region **after 7pm** to proceed.

Objectives:

  • Stand on **3 switches** hidden throughout the region.
  • Each must be stood on for a few seconds.
  • **Daddy Long Legs** appears in a cutscene when you enter the top section.
  • Avoid him while activating all three switches.

Once all are triggered:

  • The tomb at the top of the area unlocks.
  • Inside, you are safe from pursuit.

---

Step 6: Cleanse the Unwell

  • Inside the tomb, interact with the cursed well to pour in the magical water.
  • A cutscene plays, and you fade to black.

---

Step 7: Return to Paige

  • You reappear outside with Paige at the gate.

Paige: You did it! Already I feel so much better — like a huge weight has lifted.

Goddesses bless you. Take this book — it tells you more about us Woemarsh folk. You may find it insightful. Oh, joyous day!

  • Book Added: The Folk of Woemarsh – by E. Longated

Notes

  • This quest introduces timed stealth and multi-switch mechanics.
  • Directly connects to the growing threat of Daddy Long Legs.
  • Hints at ancient spiritual corruption in the marsh regions of Quill.
  • The Folk of Woemarsh contains world-building lore.
