"Hey, you!
=== Letter from Your Sibling ===
When Uncle Bill passed into nature, I went through some of his things. I took a few things with me and was just leafing through them when a small note fell out of a book.
Upon reaching GM Renown Tier 6, you receive a letter and a diary from your sibling:
It said, 'If you find this note, then it is presumed I am gone. This book contains the clues to where I buried it. Where I buried my past.'
I looked in the book, but my words were never as strong as my actions. Can you work it out? It seems like you should try. You might need a really good shovel! Something of Fae metal might do the trick! Shatterwrist or something, can't recall the name. Good luck."

What I didn’t tell anyone though, was that I saw something disturbing in that cursed wood, something dark and dangerous slumbering in the shadow. My being pale and shaken was no act, but added believability to my story.
Summertide had passed and my Rose was, of course, the only choice, and my cowardice was plain to see.
Forgive me, my flower. Forgive me, everyone.
I shall lock this confession in a chest, half hoping that it will be found one day.
I also lay to rest the sword I used so many times to take so many lives in the woods.

Diary Clues

I stood on a small muddy patch outside the outhouse. There was a wind blowing east, which I followed across water. The smell of lavender filled my nostrils and rocks stood across my path. I kept walking until I was stumped, then turned back and stood on an edge where I could see myself, and a fence to fix. I looked at my feet and noticed I was on another muddy patch, and I DUG that coincidence.

  • The clues refer to landmarks **on your farm**.
  • Use the diary’s directions to trace the route.
  • The final dig spot can only be excavated using the **Shadderwryth Shovel** (a Fae-grade tool).

Discovery

  • Digging the correct spot reveals:
 * A **Locked Chest**
 * A **Lost Journal Page** written by Uncle Bill

When I pass, and I meet my Rose again, I hope she will greet me with kindness. What I did was unforgivable.

We had been chosen to be the Summertide Heralds, but the day before, I kissed her goodbye and told her and others I was going to gather offerings for Summertide.

I actually went into faraway Toughwood and hid. Everyone thought I had been lost to monsters. I returned two weeks later, covered in cuts and bruises — self-inflicted — to appear attacked.

What I didn’t tell anyone was that I saw something disturbing in that cursed wood. Something dark and dangerous slumbering in the shadow. My pale and shaken state wasn’t an act, but it made my story more believable.

Summertide had passed. My Rose became Herald. My cowardice was plain to see. Forgive me, my flower. Forgive me, everyone.

I lock this confession away, half hoping it’s found someday. I also lay to rest the sword I used so many times to take so many lives in the woods.

Reward

 * A symbolic weapon tied to Uncle Bill’s past.
 * Comes with unique appearance and lore flavor.

Notes

  • This quest reveals a personal and emotional backstory tied to the player’s family.
  • Connects directly to broader themes of guilt, legacy, and the dark secrets of Toughwood.
  • William’s Petal may carry additional narrative weight in the final confrontation with the Jabberwock or other Tier 6+ events.
